Our Mission

AppCyder exists to help people find the right AI tools for their work. We research every tool we feature, aggregate real user feedback, and provide honest, practical recommendations — so you can make an informed decision without spending hours comparing options.

Our Methodology

AppCyder takes a research-first approach to AI tool reviews. Here's how we evaluate each tool:

  1. 1Research the tool — We review the tool's official website, documentation, pricing, feature set, and changelog history.
  2. 2Aggregate user feedback — We collect ratings and reviews from public sources: G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, Product Hunt, Reddit, and app stores, then score the app out of 5 cyders. Business and consumer review sites often disagree by three points about the same product, and that gap is usually billing.
  3. 3Hands-on testing, where it exists — When a review is informed by our own use of a tool, that review says so explicitly. We do not claim hands-on experience we don't have, and most reviews on this site are research-based today.
  4. 4Compare to alternatives — We evaluate each tool in the context of its competitors, so you know how it stacks up.
  5. 5Score and write — We rate each tool on a 5-point scale based on features, pricing, ease of use, and overall value, informed by our research and aggregated user sentiment.
  6. 6Update regularly — AI tools change fast. We revisit reviews as pricing and features change, and correct them when we're wrong.

Transparency Note

Our ratings are based on a combination of aggregated public user reviews, our own testing where available, and editorial judgment. The “reviews count” shown on each tool reflects approximate total public reviews across platforms like G2, Capterra, and Trustpilot — not reviews hosted on AppCyder. We are transparent about this because trust matters more than pretending we have tested everything ourselves.

If a review on this site has been informed by hands-on testing, it will say so explicitly in the review. Otherwise, the review is based on research and aggregated public feedback.

Our Rating System

Every tool is rated on a 5-point scale. Here's what each rating means:

4-4.4 cydersVery good — solid choice with minor drawbacks
3.5-3.9 cydersGood — works well but has notable limitations
2.5-3.4 cydersFair — use only if alternatives don't fit

Editorial Independence

Our reviews are independent. While we earn affiliate commissions when you sign up through our links, that never affects our ratings or recommendations. We rate tools based on our research and testing — not on which tool pays the highest commission. If a tool is bad, we say so, regardless of affiliate relationship.

We do not accept payment for positive reviews, and we do not sell sponsored placements or position in any ranking. Nobody can buy their way onto this site.

Affiliate Disclosure

We earn from three apps: Wispr Flow and Clipto pay a commission, both from 17 September 2026, and the Hermes Agent link is a Nous Portal referral that takes $15 off your first month and gives us $10 in API credit. Hermes Agent is also the software this site runs on, which is a conflict we state at the top of its review rather than burying here.
