What it actually does

Kling AI generates video from text or from a still image. At its best the output is genuinely excellent: smooth motion, convincing physics, strong adherence to a detailed prompt, and image-to-video that holds up better than tools charging more. It runs 1080p at 30fps, supports clips up to two minutes (three on higher plans), and includes lip sync, negative prompts and multi-image guidance. It is built by Kuaishou, a Chinese company.

That paragraph is the entire case for Kling, and we want it stated fairly before the rest, because the rest is about what happens after you pay.

What it costs

The free tier gives 66 daily credits with limited features, and those bonus credits expire in 24 hours. Standard is listed at $10 a month with Pro at $35, though a cheaper $6.99 Standard entry point also circulates, so confirm the number in front of you.

Here is what the price does not tell you. Purchased credits expire. Users report credits they paid for vanishing before they could use them, and monthly plan credits (660 on Standard, for example) simply not arriving. Failed generations still consume credits, including the well-documented freeze at 99% that errors out after a long wait, and there is no refund for them. The no-refund policy is blanket, and it applies even when the failure is the platform's own.

Cancellation runs through Stripe and is hard to find. Users report auto-renew switching itself back on after cancellation and the card being charged again despite a confirmation, with some people resorting to blocking the card at their bank to make it stop.

Where it falls down

Trustpilot sits at 1.2 out of 5 across roughly 383 reviews on klingai.com, with a second profile at 1.6 from 23 reviews. That is not a bad score. That is a collapse, and the reviews behind it are dominated by billing and refund complaints. Trustpilot's own summary of the review body flags unexpected credit card charges as a frequent theme.

Support is effectively nonexistent. Emails and tickets go unanswered, cancelling is difficult by design, and users report being silenced when they complain in official channels. A published review at eesel AI puts it bluntly: the platform is unreliable, the pricing "feels designed to take advantage of people through expiring credits," and customer support is non-existent.

The model also fails on its own terms often enough to matter. The same review notes that a really common complaint is the AI completely ignoring the prompt, and users describe near-still output for prompts that clearly describe motion, or blocky distorted junk. Every one of those failures costs credits you cannot get back. On the free tier, queue times of hours to days for a single five-second clip make evaluation impractical anyway.

Put the pieces together and you get a system where you pay up front, the credits decay, the failures are billed to you, the refunds do not exist, the cancellation resists you, and nobody answers the email. Each element has a plausible individual excuse. Together they are a billing trap, and that is why this scores 1.0 rather than the 3 its output quality alone might earn.

Who should buy it

Nobody should put a card on file here. That is our position and we are not hedging it.

If you want to see what the model can do, use the free tier, accept the queue, and keep your payment details off the platform. The output is worth looking at. It is not worth a recurring charge you may not be able to stop.

If you need AI video for paid work, buy from a vendor you can cancel. Runway and the other Western tools cost more per clip and that premium is buying you a refund policy, a support inbox and a cancel button that works. On this evidence, that is the cheaper purchase.
