What Notion AI Actually Costs in 2026
The AI is included, and then it is billed by the credit. Which is it?
What you are actually buying
Notion credits sold per thousand, on top of a seat price, with full agent capability tied to the higher plan.
Do the maths
- =Credits are sold at a published per-thousand rate, so cost scales linearly with use: ten thousand credits is ten times the price of one thousand.
- =Credits do not roll over, so an unused month is money you do not get back.
- =The seat price and the credit spend are separate bills. Adding them is the only number that means anything.

Where the bill surprises people
- !Free and Plus plans get trial-level AI, so 'AI included' on a cheaper plan does not mean the capability you read about.

- !Trustpilot sits at 2.3 with cancellation and billing as the dominant theme, which is a support problem as much as a pricing one.
Worth it if
Your team already lives in Notion and you want AI where the documents are, with the credit spend budgeted separately from seats.
Not worth it if
You are considering moving to Notion for the AI. It is a workspace with an assistant attached, not an assistant worth migrating for.
Two bills, not one
The confusing part of Notion's AI pricing is that there are two meters and the marketing only emphasises one. You pay for seats. Then you pay for credits, sold per thousand, which the agents consume.
A plan that says AI is included and then bills custom agents by the credit is both of those things at once, and people read the first half.
Where the capability actually sits
Full agent capability is tied to the higher-priced Business seat. Free and Plus get something closer to a trial. So the honest cost of "Notion with the AI people are talking about" is the Business seat price plus whatever your credits come to, and anyone comparing the cheap tier against a standalone assistant is not comparing like with like.
The date to put in your calendar
Workers leave free beta on 15 October 2026 and begin consuming credits. If you have built anything on Workers during the beta, that is the day your running cost changes without you touching it. Check what you have automated before then rather than after.
